Executive Director, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes
Yvonne Gutierrez currently serves as the Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, an electoral and legislative advocacy organization that promotes and protects the work of Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas. Yvonne has spent over a decade with Planned Parenthood, serving first as Vice President for Public Affairs at Planned Parenthood of South Texas, and later as Vice President of Public Affairs and Government Relations at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, where she led legislative and regulatory activities including direct lobbying in Texas and Louisiana. Yvonne has served in a variety of local and national leadership roles: she chairs the board of directors for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health and serves on the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Political Action Fund Committee.
Earlier, Yvonne served as Co-Chair of Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Latino Advisory Council, and on the board of directors of the Martinez Street Women’s Center in San Antonio. Yvonne received the Rising Star award from Annie’s List in 2011, and the ‘Spirit of Change’ award from former Texas State Representative (and now Congressman) Joaquin Castro for her work to advance sex education legislation in 2009.
