For Pennsylvania House District 151
Sara Johnson-Rothman has always been a strong advocate for the most vulnerable in her community. As an Assistant District Attorney in Bucks County, Sara specialized in the prosecution of sexual abuse of children and domestic abuse. She also led the overhaul of the office’s first-time offender program for non-violent crimes. Already a leader in her community, Sara was appointed and then elected to serve on the Upper Dublin School Board four years ago, where she has shown an ability to work with others to get things done. She worked tirelessly in a bipartisan manner with School Board members to expand the school district’s anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies to include gender identity and gender expression. And with contract negotiations with the teachers' union stalled several years ago and personal barbs being lobbed on both sides, she and another Board member began an informal, positive dialogue with several teachers that soon led to an approved contract. Sara is exactly the kind of leader we need in Harrisburg, and we're excited to support her in what we believe will be just her next step in a career of public service.
