For Pennsylvania House District 181
Malcolm Kenyatta is a third-generation North Philadelphian and a fierce civic and community advocate who's been working to change outcomes in the neighborhood in which he was born, raised, and has called home for his entire life. By day, he works at the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia, engaging businesses from around the region and leading their diversity and inclusion efforts. But that's just one way Malcolm serves his community. Over many years, he has been involved in a number of nonprofit and political organizations, including serving on the Board of the Smith Memorial Playground, a historic playground for disadvantaged children in Philadelphia, where he led efforts that resulted in a six-figure grant to improve the grounds; a member of the Mayor's Commission on LGBT affairs; and the President of the Education Fund for the National Organization for Women chapter. Indeed, he has fought to remove barriers to progress for struggling communities through rallies, vigils, block cleanups, and more. We're thrilled to support Malcolm in his bid to become the first openly gay person of color in the Pennsylvania legislature, and are excited for him to bring his passion and dedication to community to the statehouse.
