For Virginia House of Delegates, District 67
Karrie Delaney is a community leader in Northern Virginia who was another first-time candidate -- and now first-term Delegate -- in the Virginia House of Delegates. She has inspiring story and a record of leadership that caught our attention.
Karrie began her career working at a group home for foster children -- an experience where she learned how policy decisions can either serve or fail our most vulnerable. Later, as a crisis counselor, she stood by women who were assaulted and raised awareness about the abuse of women around the world. When Karrie became a mother, she turned her focus to local issues, and has become a strong leader in her community -- serving as an appointee of Gov. McAuliffe to the Virginia Commission on Youth, the former Chair of Fairfax County Citizens Corps Council, and currently the Chair of Fairfax County Library Board of Trustees.
A community leader who ousted an incumbent in a race that was considered even leading up to election day too-close-to-call, we're thrilled to have Karrie's voice in Richmond.
