Tarrant County Commissioner, Precinct 2

In a year where many are focused on state legislative races, we were excited to spend time finding amazing candidates running for other key local offices as well, and Devan Allen stood out among the crowd. A child of incarcerated parents who at times was homeless growing up, Devan defied the odds, working overnight shifts as an EMT to put herself through college. Since then, she has become a leader in her community, working for the past decade in the Texas Legislature and for other local elected officials, and serving with a variety of non-profit organizations and commissions, including as Chair of the Arlington Community Relations Commission and as a member of Women Inspiring Philanthropy.  She founded Allen Realty Advisors, and in 2015, Fort Worth CEO Magazine named her one of “20 Women to Watch in Business.” Running in a competitive district held by a Republican, we're excited to stand with Devan as she seeks to become the next Tarrant County Commissioner - and the only female to serve on the Commissioners Court.
